Ingredients
  

For the Beef:

  • 1/2 lb flank steak thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch

For the Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp water

For the Chow Mein:

  • 6 oz chow mein noodles
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 onion sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup julienned carrots
  • 1/2 bell pepper sliced
  • 2 green onions chopped

Instructions
 

  • Marinate beef with soy and cornstarch. Set aside.
  • Boil noodles. Drain. Rinse with cold water.
  • Mix all sauce ingredients in one bowl.
  • Heat wok. Add oil. Sear beef. Remove.
  • Sauté garlic, onion, and all veggies till soft.
  • Toss in noodles. Add sauce. Stir quickly.
  • Return beef. Combine everything evenly. Heat through.
  • Top with green onions. Serve hot and fresh.

Notes

  1. Slice beef thin for faster, even cooking.
  2. Use high heat for stir-frying always.
  3. Do not overcook noodles — keep them firm.
