Ingredients
  

For the Meatloaf Layer:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 onion finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For the Mashed Potato Layer:

  • 4 large potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Toppings:

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices cooked bacon crumbled
  • 2 green onions chopped (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Mix ground beef, eggs, milk, breadcrumbs, onions.
  • Add garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • Press mixture evenly into greased casserole dish.
  • Bake meatloaf layer for 20 minutes.
  • Boil potatoes until fork-tender, about 15 minutes.
  • Drain and mash with butter, salt, and milk.
  • Spread mashed potatoes over cooked meat layer.
  • Sprinkle cheese and bacon evenly on top.
  • Return casserole to oven for 15 more minutes.
  • Broil 2–3 minutes until cheese is golden.
  • Top with green onions and serve warm.

Notes

  1. Use sharp cheddar for extra flavor punch.
  2. Add a layer of BBQ sauce under potatoes.
  3. Use leftover mashed potatoes to save time.
