Equipment

  • Blender
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Measuring cups
  • Jigger
  • Margarita glasses
  • Lime squeezer
  • Grater (for garnish)
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup silver tequila
  • 1/4 cup triple sec
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons cream of coconut
  • 1 tablespoon agave syrup optional for sweetness
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedges for garnish
  • Shredded coconut for garnish
  • Coarse salt for rimming the glass

Instructions

  • Prepare the Glasses: Start by rimming your margarita glasses with a lime wedge and dipping them into coarse salt. This adds a touch of flavor and makes the presentation more attractive.
  • Blend the Base: In a blender, combine the coconut milk, silver tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, and cream of coconut. Blend until smooth.
  • Add Ice: Add a handful of ice cubes to the blender and blend again until the mixture is frothy and well-chilled.
  • Taste and Adjust: Taste your mixture. If you prefer a sweeter drink, add a tablespoon of agave syrup and blend again.
  • Shake: Fill your cocktail shaker with ice and pour in the blended mixture. Shake well to ensure everything is nicely chilled.
  • Serve: Pour the mixture into your prepared margarita glasses. Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprinkle of shredded coconut for a tropical touch.

Notes

  • Frozen Coconut Margarita: Blend all ingredients with a larger amount of ice for a slushy, frozen version.
  • Spicy Coconut Margarita: Add a slice of jalapeño to the shaker for a spicy kick.
  • Pineapple Coconut Margarita: Add a splash of pineapple juice for a fruity twist.
  • Mango Coconut Margarita: Blend in some fresh or frozen mango chunks for a tropical variation.
  • Coconut Mint Margarita: Muddle a few mint leaves in the shaker for a refreshing, minty flavor.
