  • First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and leInitial Proofing: Transfer the dough into an oiled bowl, cover it, and allow it to proof in a warm area until it has doubled in size, roughly 1 hour.
  • Prepare the Filling: Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
  • Rolling Dough: Once risen, roll the dough on a floured surface into a 14x9 inch rectangle.
Spread the softened butter across the rolled-out dough, then uniformly distribute the cinnamon-sugar blend over the top.
  • Forming Rolls: Roll the dough tightly from the long edge. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place them cut side down on a greased baking tray.
  • Secondary Proofing: Cover the shaped rolls and let them rise once more for about 30 minutes.
  • Baking: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook the rolls for 25-30 minutes until they turn a lovely golden hue.
  • Glazing: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

  • Ensure your milk is warm but not hot to touch to activate the yeast without killing it.
  • For extra fluffy rolls, let the dough rise in a draft-free environment.
  • Keep the rolls tight while rolling to prevent the filling from leaking.
  • Allow the rolls to cool for at least 10 minutes before applying the glaze so it sets properly.
  • Experiment with the thickness of the glaze by adjusting the amount of milk to get your desired consistency.
