Ingredients
  

  • 4 large crabs cleaned and quartered
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion finely chopped

  • 2 tomatoes chopped
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

  • 1/2 cup coconut milk

  • Prepare the Crabs: Place the crabs in a steamer basket over boiling water and steam for about 15 minutes or until cooked through.
  • Sauté the Spices: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle. Then, add onions, garlic, and ginger paste, sautéing until golden.
  • Add Tomatoes and Spices: Mix in chopped tomatoes, turmeric, garam masala, and red chili powder. Cook until tomatoes are soft and the oil separates.
  • Combine Crabs and Sauce: Add the steamed crabs to the skillet, tossing gently to coat them with the spice mixture.
  • Simmer: Pour in the coconut milk and simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  • Garnish and Presentation: Before presenting, sprinkle freshly chopped coriander leaves over the dish.
