Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Mandoline slicer or sharp knife
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons

Ingredients

  • 2 large zucchinis
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika optional for a smoky flavor

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 225°F (107°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice the zucchinis into thin, even rounds, about 1/8-inch thick.
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the zucchini slices with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
  • Place the zucchini slices evenly spaced on the lined baking sheet, making sure they do not overlap. Ensure they do not overlap to ensure even baking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the chips are crispy and lightly golden.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet to further crisp up.

Notes

  1. Cheesy Flavor: Add nutritional yeast or grated Parmesan before baking for a cheesy taste.
  2. Spicy Kick: Sprinkle red chili flakes before baking for extra heat.
  3. Herb Delight: Add dried herbs like dill or thyme for a herbaceous flavor.
  4. BBQ Twist: Toss with a small amount of BBQ seasoning for a smoky, tangy chip.
  5. Vinegar Punch: Lightly mist with vinegar before baking for a salt-and-vinegar twist.
