For Tofu:
- 1 block extra-firm tofu pressed
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
For Sauce:
- 1/4 cup honey or agave for vegan
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tsp ginger grated
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water slurry
Optional Garnish:
- Chopped green onions
- Sesame seeds
Press tofu for 20 minutes. Remove excess water.
Cut tofu into bite-sized cubes evenly.
Toss tofu with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Fry tofu until golden and crispy on all sides.
Remove tofu and drain on paper towels.
In a saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients.
