Ingredients
  

For Kabobs:

  • 1 lb sirloin steak cubed
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 red onion chunked
  • 1 zucchini sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For Marinade:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp honey

Instructions
 

  • Cut steak into even cubes.
  • Peel and devein shrimp.
  • Mix all marinade ingredients in bowl.
  • Add steak to marinade.
  • Let steak marinate 1 hour.
  • Add shrimp to same marinade.
  • Let shrimp marinate 20 minutes.
  • Chop veggies into large chunks.
  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  • Thread steak, shrimp, and veggies on skewers.
  • Brush with oil before grilling.
  • Grill skewers 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Use tongs to rotate gently.
  • Cook until shrimp is pink.
  • Steak should reach 135°F internal temperature.
  • Remove and rest for 5 minutes.

Notes

  1. Soak wooden skewers for 30 minutes.
  2. Don’t over-marinate shrimp.
  3. Use uniform cuts for even cooking.
  4. Don’t crowd pieces on skewers.
  5. Serve immediately after grilling.
  6. Baste with leftover marinade for flavor.
  7. Add pineapple for a tropical twist.
  8. Use fresh herbs in marinade.
  9. Let steak come to room temp.
  10. Try different colored peppers for variety.
