Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder sliced thin
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp pineapple juice
  • 1 tbsp annatto powder optional
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions
 

  • Slice pork into thin strips.
  • Place pork in mixing bowl.
  • Add sugar, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar.
  • Sprinkle with salt, pepper, annatto powder.
  • Add pineapple juice for natural sweetness.
  • Mix until pork is evenly coated.
  • Cover bowl with plastic wrap.
  • Refrigerate for 24 hours.
  • Heat skillet with oil.
  • Add marinated pork pieces.
  • Pour in 1 tbsp water.
  • Cook on low until tender.
  • Stir occasionally to avoid burning.
  • Allow sauce to caramelize.
  • Serve hot with rice and eggs.

  • Use pork shoulder for tender meat.
  • Marinate at least 24 hours for flavor.
  • Add pineapple juice for natural sweetness.
  • Do not overcook or pork will dry.
