Ingredients
  

  • 4 cube steaks about 150g each
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • cups vegetable oil for frying

For the gravy:

  • 2 tablespoons oil from pan
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Tenderize the Steak

  • Place the cube steaks on a clean surface. Use a meat mallet to gently pound them. This makes them soft and tender. Do not overdo it. Just a few taps are enough for better texture.

Prepare the Coating

  • In a bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and buttermilk. This coating mix gives the steak its crispy outer layer and rich taste.

Coat the Steaks

  • Dip each steak into the flour mixture first. Then dip into the wet mixture. Again coat in flour. Press gently so the coating sticks well. This double coating makes it extra crispy.

Heat the Oil

  • Pour oil into a large pan. Heat it on medium heat. You can test it by dropping a little flour. If it sizzles, it is ready. Keep the heat steady for even cooking.

Fry the Steaks

Drain the Oil
