Ingredients

  • 1 large French baguette or Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 garlic cloves minced fresh
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese optional

Instructions

Prepare the Garlic Butter

  • Take a bowl and add softened butter. Mix in minced garlic, salt, pepper, and parsley. Stir until smooth and creamy. This mixture is the heart of the recipe and gives strong flavor to every bite of bread.

Slice the Bread

  • Cut the baguette in half lengthwise. You can also slice it into smaller pieces. Place it on a baking tray with the cut side facing up. This helps the butter soak into the bread properly.

Spread the Butter Mixture

  • Take the garlic butter and spread it evenly on the bread. Cover all corners well. Do not use a small amount because the flavor depends on this step. Make sure every bite gets rich garlic taste.
  • Add Cheese (Optional)
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top if you like cheesy garlic bread. Parmesan also works well. The cheese melts during baking and creates a soft, gooey layer with extra flavor.

Bake the Bread

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 12–15 minutes. The bread should turn golden and crispy on edges. The aroma of garlic and butter will fill your kitchen beautifully.

Slice and Serve

  • Remove from oven and let it cool for 2 minutes. Cut into slices and serve warm. It goes perfectly with pasta, soup, or salad.

Notes

  • Always use fresh garlic for best flavor
  • Soft butter spreads more easily
  • Add chili flakes for spicy garlic bread
  • Use sourdough for stronger texture
  • Mix parmesan and mozzarella for rich taste
  • Do not overbake or bread will become hard
  • Brush olive oil for extra crispiness
