- 1 lb 450 g ground beef
- 1/2 lb 225 g ground pork
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 medium onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika optional
- 1 can 15 oz/425 g tomato sauce
- 1 can 14.5 oz/410 g diced tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup water or beef broth

Prepare the Cabbage Leaves
Make the Filling
