Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
Line the baking pan with parchment paper.
Combine crust ingredients in a bowl.
Press crust mixture into the prepared pan.
Bake crust for 10 minutes and cool.
Mix cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla; mix until blended.
Pour cheesecake layer over cooled crust.
Bake for 25 minutes until slightly set.
While baking, make the pecan topping.
In saucepan, mix syrup, sugar, eggs, vanilla, butter.
Heat on medium, stirring constantly for 5 minutes.
Stir in chopped pecans and remove from heat.
Pour topping over baked cheesecake layer.
Bake again for 25 minutes until golden and set.
Cool completely before cutting into squares.
