Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Pink food coloring optional

Instructions
 

  • Combine Milk and Cream: In your saucepan, mix the whole milk and heavy cream. Heat over medium until it begins to simmer, but do not let it boil.
  • Mix Cornstarch and Sugar: In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar and cornstarch until there are no lumps.
  • Combine Ingredients: Slowly add the sugar and cornstarch mixture to the simmering milk and cream, constantly whisking to ensure it blends smoothly.
  • Cook to Thicken: Continue to cook the mixture on low heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens to a custard-like consistency.
  • Add Flavors: Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. If you’re using pink food coloring, add it now until you reach your desired color.
  • Blend for Smoothness: To get that silky smooth texture, blend the mixture using a blender or an immersion blender.
